In the production process of the ball mill, an appropriate amount of ore is required to ensure the stability of the grinding process. Excessive feeding of ore for a long time destroys this balance condition, and the phenomenon of grinding machine work disorder – distended belly will occur. In addition, when the particle size composition of the feeding ore changes and the content of coarse-grained ore is high, if the feeding amount is not adjusted in time, the coarse-grained ore will stay in the body for a long time, and it will accumulate more and more, which will directly cause “bloating”.
The speed of the ball mill directly affects the production efficiency of the ball mill. The critical speed of the ball mill is 76% and 88% respectively. When the speed of the ball mill is low, the media is mainly shedding movement, and the impact effect is small. The grinding action is mainly grinding. Low production capacity, suitable for fine grinding.
When the rotation speed of the ball mill is high, the proportion of the medium throwing motion is larger, and the impact effect is stronger. The abrasive effect is mainly impact, followed by grinding and stripping.
Occasionally, the phenomenon of “running rough” occurs in the ball mill, that is, the abnormal phenomenon that the fineness of the milled product is significantly coarse and difficult to control.
The main reason why the ball mill “runs rough” is that the capacity of the coarse grinding bin is too strong and the capacity of the fine grinding bin is insufficient. The reasons why the grinding capacity of the coarse grinding chamber is significantly higher than that of the fine grinding chamber are: (1) The loading capacity of the grinding body in the coarse grinding chamber is too small, the diameter of the steel balls is too small, or the filling rate of the grinding body in the fine grinding chamber is too low compared with the coarse grinding chamber (2) The feeding amount is too much, or the feeding amount increases sharply in a short period of time; (3) The gap between the grate seams of the partition plate is too large; (4) There is a phenomenon of “bloating belly”.
